Timeline of review
The Scientific Operations Committee (SOC) encourages investigators to submit their proposals for peer review 3 months in advance of the granting agency deadline. It can take up to 6 weeks for the SOC to review a proposal and send a response.
After receiving the proposal, two researchers and one patient partner will be selected from the SOC to review your proposal. The committee will meet approximately 2 weeks later to discuss the proposal and make a recommendation. Investigators will receive anonymized copies of the reviews and a letter of endorsement, if the committee agrees it is merited. If the committee does not agree to endorse the proposal, a letter with comments and feedback will be sent to the investigator and they will be encouraged to re-submit.
A representative of the committee will be available to discuss the proposal and the committees decision in more detail, if the investigator chooses.
If a proposal is successful in receiving funding, the CNTN can assist with other aspects of study start up and recommend resources. If a proposal is not successful, the SOC can assist in strengthening the proposal for the next round.
